Attractions

Fancy Free plays host to no less than 9 well stocked trout and 2 bass dams and we offer good fishing all year round. Target trout ranging from 1kg to 3kg in the winter and bass up to 3 kg in the summer. Well appointed jetties and easily accessible shorelines offer comfortable, quality fly fishing to both experienced and novice fly fishermen. Our own on-site hatchery ensures that our dams are always stocked with quality fish. We offer guided fishing and expert advice to anglers in the need of assistance. Float tubing is allowed on all our dams. Rowing boats are available for hire.

Facilities

This spacious retreat is the largest of our dwellings. Sleeping six comfortably, it is comprised of an exquisite double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a second double bedroom, another single room with two single beds and a separate bathroom. Relax in comfort next to a crackling log fire while watching DSTV (own smartcard) in the lounge/dining area or chill out with a drink in the bar area. A fully equipped kitchen and secluded boma with braai area offer spectacular views over the water, making cooking and dining a most pleasurable experience.

An annex to Matuka, "Woolly Bugger" offers one double room, another room with two singles, a shower and separate toilet.

Directions

Take the N1 to Witbank then on to Belfast. Continue along the N4, passing three garages (Milly's One-Stop, Machadadorp Shell and Horse Shoe Garage). Drive for approximately 300m, then turn left onto the dirt road indicating Dullstroom. Carry on with the dirt road for about 5km. On your right you will see a bricked wall entrance with a brown gate with FANCY FREE on it. Slide open the gate and drive through. (Please close gate after entering). Proceed on this road and keep left to 2nd brown gate - proceed through the gate and park at undercover parking.
