Description

Nestled between the mountains on the eastern highlands of Mpumalanga, your hosts Arthur and Drinie Alant wish to welcome you to the convenient and charming luxury country accommodation, four kilometers off the Maputo Corridor (N4), two and a half hours from Johannesburg.

Flyfishing for rainbow, golden and brown trout on private waters. Seven weirs in the Swartkoppies stream and eleven dams offer discerning flyfishermen a paradise. Float tubes and kick boats are welcome. Fly tackle available for hire.

The four luxury, self catering cottages situated in delightfully manicured gardens, offer a panoramic view over the rolling hills, valleys and forests.

Outdoor activities

Flyfishing, hiking and mountain biking affords one the opportunity to appreciate the prolific bird and animal life. An acute shortage of this type of fishing in Mpumalanga.

In the surrounding area other activities can be enjoyed such as, steam train rides, rock climbing, horse trails, paragliding, hiking, mountain bike trails, historical buildings and structures, and caves.

Facilities and Prices

Cottages are serviced daily by our friendly staff. Log fires blaze in the cozy lounges during cool and misty evenings. Private braai facilities with wood and charcoal.

All cottages fully equipped and serviced. Towels supplied in Fairview cottage only. Wood, charcoal and a jug of milk supplied. Vivid Digital Satellite TV in all the cottages except Stone Cottage.

Sleeps maximum 10 people. Three couples and children. Five bedrooms; 1 x 2 single beds with shower, basin and toilet. 1 x double bed and 1 x single bed. These two rooms share a bathroom. Dormitory: 1 x double bed and 1 x single bed. Dressing room with a bunkbed, sleeps 2. This room has its own bathroom.
Minimum 7 adults - tariffs on request.

Stone Cottage

Sleeps maximum 6 people. Three bedrooms; 1 x 2 single beds, 1 x 2 single beds, 1 x double bed. Bathroom with bath, basin and toilet and bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. Gas equipped.
Minimum 5 people and minimum 4 adults - tariffs on request.

Fairview Cottage

Sleeps maximum 4 people. Adults only. Two en-suite bedrooms; 1 x double bed and 2 single beds. Towels supplied.
Minimum 2 people - tariffs on request.

Country Cottage

Sleeps maximum 4 people. Two bedrooms; 1 x double bed and 2 single beds. Only one bathroom off main bedroom - tariffs on request.

Terms and Conditions

The full amount is payable with reservation. Cancellation less than two weeks in advance - no refund.

If more people are sleeping in the cottage than have been booked and arranged for, the full price (adults) will be charged for every extra person. The number of people booked will be charged for, even if some cannot make it.
